Urinary Bladder Cancer – Diagnosis
Diagnosis is usually performed via specialised exams.
Theses tests usually help us in the diagnosis and include:
- Thorough bladder exam under anesthesia.
- Urine Cytology (find cancer cells in urine)
- kidney-bladder ultrasound
- Cystoscopy, biopsy, etc.
When diagnosis is completed, it is important to know the disease stage and define whether it is superficial invasive cancer or not. This is achieved via computed tomography (CT), and bone scan along with transurethral tumor resection sampling.
