Urinary Bladder Cancer
Urinary bladder is a hollow muscular organ located in the minor pelvis below the pubic symphysis. It’s function is to store urine for some hours until expelled through the urethra. Urinary bladder cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men and the eighth in women.
Each year worldwide 250,000 new cases are diagnosed while 120,000 die.
This type of cancer is more common in men, while the incidence ratio men / women is 3:1. The past few years, though, this ratio tends to decrease.
It is also more common in older people (60 and over without of course excluding younger) and rare in children.
