Short Frenulum
Short Frenulum of the Penis
Frenulum is the skin fold in the lower surface of the penis that joins the glans with the prepuce.
The short frenulum may cause:
- Small bending of the erect penis
- Pain during sexual intercourse
- During intense sexual contact may cause partial or total rupture of bridle with bleeding, which in some cases may require immediate surgical correction.
The resection of the short frenulum is done under local anesthesia using laser. It may sometimes be necessary to apply absorbable sutures, which falls from 10 to 15 days postoperatively.
No hospital stay is required and the patient can immediately work.
Sexual contact is allowed immediately after wound healing.
